Learning From Mase? AKA Sending the message in a way it can be received (1/4/18)
So. Mase did an interview with Angie Martinez. Ignoring the obvious thing the last bit spoke to me. First off, Mase. Very well spoken guy, I enjoy listening to wordsmiths talk. But back to the topic. He said something like; "You have to send the message in a way it can be received by the receiver." Something like that. I'm more often than not really frustrated and confused when I try to genuinely help somebody and it doesn't get through or whatever. And I'm so foolish because like most things I say, it seems so obvious. You have to tell somebody something in a way that they'll understand and hopefully accept. I think I struggle with this. Actually I know do.
Do you listen? Like really listen. Take things in, think about it, respond. Maybe even apply. Do people listen to you? Older people always told me there's a difference between hearing and listening. I think I'm heard, most times. If I'm lucky. But listened to, that's another story.
